A new study by InterNations reveals that 76% of expats in the UAE believe their careers have improved since moving to the country. This study highlights the UAE as one of the top 10 countries for expatriates to live and work in 2024, particularly excelling in areas like no bureaucratic hurdles and simple immigration laws. The UAE is praised for its strong economy and job market, with many expats finding it easy to get accommodation. Additionally, the country ranks high in quality of life, environmental policies, and political stability.
One of the reasons expats find the UAE appealing is the absence of bureaucratic obstacles. The UAE’s “Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme” aims to remove 2,000 procedures within a year and improve hundreds of government services. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum announced these initiatives to better serve customers and eliminate red tape.
The study also shows that 64% of expats find it easy to get accommodation in the UAE, though affordability remains a challenge due to rising rents. The UAE ranks third in the quality of life index, with high approval ratings for its government’s environmental policies, car infrastructure, and political stability. Moreover, the UAE is highly regarded for its safety, with expats feeling secure and healthcare being both available and of good quality.
InterNations’ survey places the UAE among the best for expats, with Panama, Mexico, Indonesia, and Spain also in the top 10. Meanwhile, countries like Kuwait and Turkey rank lower in the survey.
