Veda Fernandes, a teenager from Dubai, did something amazing. When she was just 16, she joined a hospital for an internship. While working there, she noticed something important—many parents were forgetting their children’s vaccination dates!
Veda had an idea. What if there was a way to remind parents about these important shots? She thought an app could help. After her internship, she spent a whole year working hard to build it.
The result was an app called “VAXTrack.” This smart app helps parents keep track of all their children’s vaccinations. It sends reminders so they don’t miss any dates. Now, the app has been downloaded more than 4,500 times!
This experience made Veda love technology and healthcare even more. Today, she is studying computer science in the United States and is in her second year of college.
Experts say internships like the one Veda did are great. They help young people learn real skills and see what it’s like to work in different jobs. But it can be hard for students in the UAE to find internships. Some don’t know where to start, and others can’t take unpaid jobs.
Still, Veda’s story shows that even one internship can lead to big ideas and make a real difference!
