Living in Dubai’s shared housing comes with some important rules, especially for how much space each person should have. The Dubai shared accommodation rules say that everyone should have at least five square metres of bedroom space. That’s enough for a single bed and a small desk!
The rules also mention how many people can use bathrooms and kitchens and what families sharing a home need to know. Every family must have their own bedroom and bathroom. In homes for individuals, more than one person can share a bedroom, but there are limits.
Kitchen and Bathroom Guidelines
Kitchens are important, too! The kitchen must be at least one square metre per person to ensure enough space for everyone to cook safely. Communal kitchens can be on each floor if there are lots of people, and they need to be big enough for everyone to use.
Bathroom sharing rules are in place, too. If a bathroom has everything (like a sink, toilet, and shower), one bathroom should be for every four people. If the toilet and shower are separate, then there must be a specific number available.
Multipurpose and Laundry Areas
Shared buildings must also have halls for dining and fun activities. These need to have the right equipment, according to the building rules. For washing clothes, there must be washbasins and drying areas, enough for everyone living there.
