Dubai has just flown its first crewed air taxi! This means a small flying vehicle, like a helicopter, carried real people for the first time as a test.
The special flight went from Margham to Al Maktoum Airport. It’s part of Dubai’s big plan to launch flying taxis by 2026. These air taxis are not just cool—they’re good for the planet, too. They’re electric, fast, and don’t make much noise.
This flying taxi can carry four passengers and a pilot. It has six propellers and four batteries. It can travel up to 160 kilometers and fly as fast as 320 kilometers per hour!
The Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan, saw the flight and talked about how these new air taxis will help people get around faster. He said Dubai is building smart roads and even working on something called the “Future Loop”—a new travel system.
Flying taxis are one part of Dubai’s dream to become a super smart city. If all tests go well, kids in Dubai might grow up seeing flying taxis in the sky, just like cars on the road!
