UAE Temperature Crosses 50℃ Mark; Is Peak Summer Over?

August 28, 2024

The UAE recently experienced temperatures exceeding 50℃, particularly in the Al Dhafra region, sparking concerns about whether the peak summer heat has passed. Despite a slight cooling trend, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) predicts more hot days ahead, with temperatures continuing to hover around the mid-40s. Experts note that while the extreme heat may ease slightly, hot and humid conditions will persist due to high sea surface temperatures, affecting coastal and urban areas.

Residents are advised to stay hydrated, avoid outdoor activities during peak heat hours, and follow safety guidelines to prevent heat-related illnesses. The NCM recommends wearing light, loose clothing and using sun protection when outside.
